Joululahjavinkki - Christmas present

Paperillan haasteessa suunniteltiin tällä viikolla pieniä, kirjekuoressa lähetettäviä joululahjoja. Tein nukkisihmiselle sopivan lahjan; paperiaskarteluja 1:12 koossa. Samalla tämä lahja toimii joulukorttina. Paksu, kovaa pahvia oleva selkämys jättää tilaa vähän korkeammille esineille ja samalla suojaa postin kuljetuksessa. - Paperilla blog challenge this week was about inventing a Christmas present, which can be sent in an envelope. I made some paper crafting in 1:12 size.

Amaryllis ja karkkitötterö ovat Minihalin tee-se-itse askartelupakkauksista, muut skräppipaperista, kiiltokuvista ja netistä printattuja. Marian Väinölän Joulu kirjan vinkkiä on kiittäminen enkelikoristeista. Esineet on kiinnitetty joko 3D -teipillä tai pienellä liimatipalla, joten ne on helppo irrottaa. - Amaryllis and candy cone are from Minihali DIY kit, others are made of scrap papers or printed from the net. I have used 3D -tape or a glue dot to fix the items on the paper, so they are easy to remove from the card.

Olen pitkään ihaillut ja keräillyt Pinterest kansiooni Putz-taloja, noita pieniä, taianomaisia, kimaltavia joulutaloja. Jos et vielä tunne Putz -taloja, googlaapa ja löydät mitä ihanampia pikkukyliä. Jopa 1:12 koossa näitä löytyy. Yrittelin tähän kranssiin pienen mökin väkertää Putz tyyliin.
- I have admired Putz houses for a long time. I love those magical, glittering tiny houses. I tried to create one on the door ornament.

Nukkiskavereiden kanssa liimailtiin siirtokuvia, kiitos siitä Helille, joka oli niitä printtaillut! - We had an evening together with some friends decorating plates and cups with decals. This was fun.

Joulukortteja ja siluettikuvia - Christmas Cards and Silhouettes

Pikkuhiljaa joulu hiipii askarteluun. Paperillan blogissa teimme joulukorttivinkkejä. Itse innostuin leikkaamaan siluettikuvia; täältä löytyy siluettien historiasta vähän tarinaa.

I already have some tiny feeling of the coming Christmas, so it was nice to start making cards in Paperilla blog challenge. You can have a peep of what our group showed in our latest post here.

Tässä omia versioitani. Siluetit olen leikannut Doverin askartelukirjasta "Easy-to-cut Christmas Silhouettes".  - Here are my versions. I cut the silhouettes from Dover book "Easy-to-cut Christmas Silhouettes".

Tein myös nukkekotiin siluettitauluja, tosin ei jouluaiheisia. - I also cut some silhouettes for my dollhouses. Poppy likes horses and dogs, it seems!

Puputaloon hirvenpää. Jostain aikakauslehdestä leikkasin vanhan opetustaulun kuvan. Olipa kerrankin sopivan kokoinen! - Bunnyhouse got a silhouette of a doe. I also found a picture in a magazine of an old poster used in biology lessons and it was just the right size for the bunnies!

Kirjain-sana -inspiraatio - It's all about letters and words

Paperillan blogissa inspiroiduttiin kirjaimista ja sanoista viikonloppuna vietetyn Aleksis Kiven -päivän kunniaksi. Tein oman työni nuorimman poikani valokuva-albumiin. Kuvassa hän keskittyy kirjoitusharjoituksiin.  Taulu on maalattu liitutaulumaalilla ja aapisessa on hänen ekaluokan aapisensa kansi. - Our challenge in Paperilla blog this week was to find inspiration from letters and words. I made a page for my son's photo album. He's concentrating hard on his writing exercises .

Pöllöt ovat kaikissa tarinoissa ja saduissa viisaita ja antavat hyviä sanallisia neuvoja. Löysin Jenny Doh'n kirjan Craft-a-Doodle, jonka avulla voi harjoitella piirtelyä, doodlausta. Kirjassa on hauskoja pöllökuvia, jotka inspiroivat minua tekemään pöllöisen ATC-kortin. - I found a great book about doodling, Craft-a-Doodle by Jenny Doh, which helps you to start doodling. There were funny drawings of owls, which inspired me to use them on an ATC. Owls always say wise words, right?

Blythe nukkekoti sai myös pöllötaulut. Tein ne pienien pahvilaatikoiden sisäkanteen. Nämä sopivat myös kortteihin tuomaan kolmiuloitteisuutta. - My blythe dolls got owl decoration for their kitchen walls. You could also use these for card crafting.

Piggy Pork's Name Day

This title doesn't translate correctly, but in Finland we have an old children's song, where Putte Possu is celebrating his name day. And Putte Possu is also used for the american cartoon character Piggy Pork. But Piggy in the children's song has nothing to do with the Looney Tune's character. Anyway, I made a box for the Piggy, according to the song, where he invites his friends for a party and they eat lots of candies, lolly pops etc.

 Armas, the badger, is drinking lemonande here. He's a bit shy...

The annual miniature fair in Forssa was last weekend. I finally got myself a Taru Astikainen doll,
Ruth. She's a beauty. If you haven't checked Taru's dolls yet, have a look at her blog Primadoll.

Have a great last week of July! Oh, I almost forgot, Sanne got herself a dresser. Goodness, so many jars and make-up items! LOL

Practising and funny mistakes

At school I was the one at handcraft who sat through the lessons doing the minimum. Why? Because I thought I cannot sew/crochet/stitch, you name it, as I overheard my teacher telling my mother that I was good at crafting, but all else was a mess. Well, now when I think about it, it was her job to teach me! So my skills with needle are not so good. But I'm practising. I made this little bunny. It was a hard task, and my stitches were sometimes OK and sometimes not. But I made it. The funniest part was, when I noticed he had two right hands... LOL. But here he is, Droopy, with only one pink paw, poor Droopy...

I also made a new dog for my kennel. He's a mixture of some unknown breeds...

Sataa, sataa ropisee... - Rain, rain go away

Juhannus ei säiden puolesta ollut kummoinen, ja sehän tarkoitti sitä, että ehti askarrella! - Midsummer festivities are over, the weather was not so good, which meant that there was plenty of time for crafting!

Blythe girls Iris and Sanne got new luggage. They haven't told me where they're off to!

And tiny Flora got herself a wreath of dandelions.

Miniatyyrimarkkinat Lahdessa 2015 - Miniature Fair in Lahti

Mini-ihanuuksia oli taas saman katon alla vaikka kuinka paljon tänään Lahdessa. - So many cute things at Lahti Miniature Fair today. I got something for my 1:12 dollhouse, as well as for my Blythe girls. And here I also introduce my new little dolly; Fairygarden Tenten. I call her Flora, as she is a little fairy after all.
